First and foremost, the Social Justice Committee would like to thank everyone who has contributed to our various drives!!
Each month we have been able to donate several full bags to the Helping Hands Food Pantry under our “Just One More Thing” program. Additionally, we were still able to collect about 10 bags of food for the March Mega Madness food drive! However, our work is not done and we still have many opportunities in which you can make a difference!
1. Each month the Helping Hands Food Pantry determines which items they need most. This month we are collecting Baby Food to be donated to the food pantry. They are in specific need of: STAGE 1; Meats ONLY, STAGE 2: Meats & Vegetables; and STAGE 3: Meats, Vegetables and Fruits until April 28th. Any questions feel free to contact Jamie Steinberg.
2. The National Council of Jewish Women is now accepting gently used spring clothes to sell in their thrift shop. All items must be in good condition, clean and put into plastic bags. Any questions, please contact Janis Kronenberg. This collection is on-going.
3. If you prefer to make a monetary donation for either of the above listed food drives, Women of Kol Dorot is still selling supermarket gift cards. The gift cards can be donated to the food bank while supporting WKD. Please contact Joan Cooper for more information on the gift cards.
4. Lastly, we are working with Greater Bergen Community Action, which runs the Head Start program in Passaic and Bergen Counties. We started an Amazon Wish List to help the Head Start Program get desperately needed supplies to the students. You can access the list here. The items will be shipped directly to Jamie Steinberg, who will deliver them to the Head Start program. Feel free to contact her with any questions you may have about this program.
All donations for the above collections can be dropped off at the homes of Kol Dorot volunteers. Please email Jamie Steinberg for the latest address list!
Thank you for your support!!
