Make A Difference - Social Justice Committee's March Update

The Social Justice Committee has been very busy!! We have many opportunities in which you can make a difference!

  1. Just One More Thing – Each month the Helping Hands Food Pantry determine which items they need most. This month we are once again collecting Liquid Hand Soap and Facial Tissues until March 25th. These are high demand items and they run out quickly. Any questions feel free to contact Jamie Steinberg.

  2. The National Council of Jewish Women is now accepting gently used spring clothes to sell in their thrift shop. All items must be in good condition, clean and put into plastic bags. Any questions, please contact Janis Kronenberg. This collection is on-going.

  3. We have partnered with Jewish Federation for their March Madness Food Drive. For a list of items being collected, click here. Please keep the Mega Food Drive and Just One More Thing items separate and mark your bag indicating which donation you are contributing to. This collection ends March 25th.

  4. If you prefer to make a monetary donation for either of the above listed food drives, Women of Kol Dorot is still selling supermarket gift cards. The gift cards can be donated to the food bank while supporting WKD. Please contact Joan Cooper for more information on the gift cards.

  5. Lastly, we are working with Greater Bergen Community Action, which runs the HeadStart program in Passaic and Bergen Counties. We started an Amazon Wish List to help the Head Start Program get desperately needed supplies to the students. You can access the list here. The items will be shipped directly to Jamie Steinberg, who will deliver them to the Headstart program. Feel free to contact her with any questions you may have about this program.

All donations for the above collections can be dropped off at the homes of Kol Dorot volunteers. Please email Jamie Steinberg for the latest address list!

Thank you for your support!!
