Director of Early Learning Center (full time, contract) - Kol Dorot, an innovative Reform Jewish community of 300 families in Oradell, New Jersey, offers an excellent opportunity for a warm, dynamic, and engaging Early Learning Center Director to lead our preschool’s reopening, with a flexible hiring date expected to be early 2021. To start, and for at least the first year, the Director will also be a Head Teacher in the classroom.
The Kol Dorot Early Learning Center will be a fully-licensed NAEYC program for ages 18 months through pre-kindergarten, with full- or half-day, and partial-week, enrollment options. Our community welcomes families of all affiliations, backgrounds, races, sexual orientations, and gender identities. The ELC will create a loving, inclusive, and safe environment infused with Jewish values and tradition, where each child and every family is respected and valued. The school will enable learners to build strong habits of mind, critical thinking skills, resiliency, and focus, through multi-sensory experiences, discovery, and problem solving, as they become enthusiastic and confident learners. Guided by best practices, our educators will nurture the creative, emotional, and social growth of the children. Our ELC will provide students with ample opportunity to gain the requisite skills for making a smooth transition to kindergarten.
Our ELC paused for the 2020-21 school year as we completed the merger of two Reform congregations and prepared to move into a newly renovated building. Now we are looking for a Director who is excited to partner with a community that is eager to reopen its school with a capacity of approximately 50 students. The Director will be a key member of the professional staff, working in partnership with the Clergy, Religious School Director, and Board of Trustees to create vibrant, nurturing, and meaningful educational opportunities for our children and their parents, helping us to engage families in Jewish life and integrate them into the greater Jewish community. The new Director will build on the achievements of our legacy programs and work with the community to bring her/his/their own vision and skills to our school.
